Shawn is a guide on the path of authentic, integrative practice. She holds an undergraduate degree in English and Religious Studies from Georgetown University and Oxford University as well as a graduate degree in Eastern Classics and Sanskrit from St. John’s College in Santa Fe. Drawing on these formal studies in philosophy, linguistics, and mystical poetry, her teaching is grounded in the embodied integration of more than two decades of living yoga.
Since 2003, Shawn has designed and shared yogic studies programs, teacher trainings, and retreat experiences worldwide. She also mentors and certifies others in Prana Flow, an inspired system created by her longtime teacher, Shiva Rea.
Shawn is currently earning an M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Southwestern College. She served previously as a core catalyst of the nonprofit Anahata International, bringing trauma-sensitive mindfulness trainings and resources to conflict-affected communities in places like Rwanda and the West Bank. Her work has been featured in publications ranging from Yoga Journal and SHAPE Magazine to the Washington Post.
