Cynthia Nero

Cynthia has been a yoga student since 1990 and a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher for many years. As a breast cancer survivor herself, she teaches yoga to cancer patients in treatment and recovery. Cynthia has also had back pain for most of her life. As a result, she now teaches her yoga classes, workshops and private sessions with a focus on functional movement and experiential anatomy, integrated with the breath and the subtle body. Her teaching style is compassionate, enthusiastic, precise, and accessible to students of all levels.

Cynthia has a Masters in Social work and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University. She founded Bedford Yoga in Bedford, NY in 1992 and directed the studio until relocating to Santa Fe in 2011. Currently, she is in a 3-year yoga therapist training program with Robin Rothenberg.

Cynthia is the author of The Everything Yoga Book(2002) and Yoga On the Go: Poses to Shift Your State of Mind (2003).
