Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate, or an advanced level practitioner, you will find the right classes and teacher(s) to instruct and inspire your practice. Gentle Yoga

This class is for the new to the seasoned yoga practitioner. Here we offer an integrative approach to opening the physical body by combining breath awareness with some slow vinyasa and gentle supported static poses and helping to strengthen inner focus with the use of some mudra (hand gestures) and guided imagery.

Hatha Yoga

Introduction to Yoga*

This 6-week series is designed especially for the new Yoga student. The basic Yoga poses are introduced and the foundation for regular practice is laid. Upon completion, students feel empowered to practice safely and to feel confident to join in with any of our Level 1 classes.

Patanjali's Yoga Sutra Series*

This series of four classes with Linda Spackman offers an opportunity to study the rich and illumminativeYoga Sutras of Patanjali. The Sutras offer clear and concise guidance in the art of living. By working with particular themes from the text, Linda brings the teachings into vivid relevance for our day to day lives.

In this course the “Isvara Sutras” are covered. These sutras offer a powerful method for progressing towards the state of yoga or inner peace. Patanjali explains that through consideration of and surrender to a greater force than our individuality, we can achieve a state of inner clarity. The characteristics of the greater force and techniques for developing a relationship with that force are revealed. These principles form the fundamentals of yogic meditation.

Classes will include lecture, discussion, chanting and reflection.

Level I

Beginning students will learn correct alignment of the basic yoga postures. The fundamental principles of the asanas or yoga postures are introduced and practiced. Standing poses, seated posed, beginning backbends and shoulderstand are covered in detail.

Level I/II

This class is suitable for students who have attended Level l classes. Level I/II classes build on and refine prior knowledge of the poses. New poses are introduced including Headstand as well as some introduction to the philosophical aspects of Yoga.

Level II

Intermediate asanas are introduced as well as further instruction and insights into alignment principles and philosophy. Sun salutations and inversions are further developed.

Level II/III

Presumes students are familiar with the standing poses, inversions and backbends. Longer time in poses, further variations and more challenging and vigorous sequences are typical. Previous yoga experience is required.

Level III

Students attending this class must have a regular Intermediate practice including a five minute Headstand and Shoulderstand as well as with pressing up into Urdhva Danuransana (full backbend) from the floor.

All Levels

All Levels classes are appropriate for All Levels of experienced Yoga students. Students attending this class should have 6 months to 1 year of consistent Asana practice.

Restorative

Restorative classes foster deep relaxation in a quiet setting. Reclined poses and supported inversions are emphasized and props are used to release to the body and mind. Both soothing and nurturing, this class promotes conscious relaxation and deep healing.

Prenatal

A safe and supportive environment for expectant mothers. Postures in this class are modified, and help ease pregnancy and delivery by building strength, creative flexibility and emphasizing proper breathing. Beginners welcome.

A safe and supportive environment for both expectant and new mothers. Postures in this class are modified, and help ease pregnancy and delivery by building strength, creative flexibility and emphasizing proper breathing. Beginners welcome.
