THERAPEUTIC BREATHWORK WORKSHOPS

with Lauren Morlock

In Studio Only

Every other Sunday, continuing April 28 | 5:30 - 7:00pm (Apr 28, May 12, 26… )

Breathwork is an active meditation that brings about an elevated state of consciousness. The practice consists of conscious, connected breath -- in and out through the open mouth, without pause, slightly faster than normal paced breathing. The breath is practiced to a set of music to support and guide the experience.

Therapeutic Breathwork is an effective tool for exploring the body; the emotional, physical and energetic bodies. This conscious breathing allows what may be buried in the psyche or in the body on the cellular level to arise and process in a safe and supportive container. It allows us to be in our bodies in a space of presence and nurturing to the Self. Oftentimes we are left feeling lighter, spacious and aligned after the session.

This session will last 90 min. We will check in, set intention, breathe for 45 min, and then integrate post breathe. This is an experiential class and can become quite sweet, supportive and intimate. No experience necessary. This is a great tool for those who struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, substance use, pain, grief, trauma, insomnia, and more. It is also simply a great tool for getting to know the Self more intimately, feeling more self love and empowerment.

FOUNDATIONS OF MINDFULNESS MEDITATION: When the Body Becomes All Eyes

with Shawn Parell

Livestream (online) Only

Six Thursdays: April 25 - June 6 (no class May 16) | 6:00 - 7:00pm MDT

Many of us sense the benefits of mindfulness in our lives — walking alone in the woods, in moments of wonder, in listening quietly to a friend — but when it comes to seated meditation, we either don’t know where to start or struggle to commit to a regular practice. Maybe you’ve dabbled with the guidance of a meditation app or book and now you’re ready to develop personal agency in your practice. Or maybe – like many of us – you’re simply struggling with the overwhelm of life and you’re open to anything that might help. Everyone is welcome to this introductory course. In a progressive, 6-week sequence, we'll provide the interdisciplinary framework, skills, and community context for each participant to establish and nurture the foundations of a regular seated practice.

RELAX + RESTORE: Yoga Nidra + Gong Meditation

with Monique Derfuss

In Studio Only

Saturday, May 4 | 5:00 - 6:00pm

Friday, June 21 | 7:15 - 8:15pm

The gong has been used for thousands of years for ceremonies and healing. Gong sound meditation can offer physical, emotional and spiritual healing through deep relaxation, cleansing the subconscious mind and stimulating the glan- dular system. It is fondly named “the smart person’s meditation” as it can bring the mind to a neutral state but only requires you to be open and to allow the sound of the gong to wash over you. Gong combined with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation, provides the opportunity for even deeper relaxation. Join Monique of SoundWellness to explore these healing modalities!

KNEE THERAPY WORKSHOP

with Rebecca Hooper

In Studio Only

Sunday, May 5 | 2:00 - 4:00pm

The knee is the largest and one of the most complex joints of the body. It is highly flexible and yet bears the weight of the body across its surfaces. This combination makes it susceptible to damage and strain. In this workshop we will explore asana adaptations that help to restore stability and ease in the structure of the knees which will include actions of the hips and ankles. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of practitioners.

OPENING THE SPINE: A Three Part Saturday Backbend Series

with Jim Benvenuto

In Studio Only

Remaining Saturdays: May 11, June 15 | 2:00 - 4:00pm

Join Jim Benvenuto in this three part backbend immersion series, grounded in Iyengar wisdom and methodically sequenced to facilitate spinal extension and opening. The health and vitality of the body and mind is intimately related to the health of the spine. Backbending is complex and requires the intelligent integration of the entire spine and body. We will develop progressive openings of the spine over these three Saturdays to integrate and harmonize the spine's action. The series is designed to gradually progress in the complexity of the backbend asanas and culminate in their fullest expression.

Participants are encouraged to join Jim’s Saturday morning class (10:30-12:00) for additional preparation and openings for the afternoon sessions. While the three sessions are available for drop in, they will build upon each other and it is recommended to take the entire series.

SHENG ZHEN QIGONG SERIES: Healing Stage 1

with Melissa Rehfeldt

In Studio Only

Three Sundays: May 26, June 2, June 9 | 2:00 - 3:30pm

Sheng Zhen, pronounced Shung Jen, is a unique style of qigong and mindfulness practice centered around opening the heart and relaxing the body through a variety of movements and forms. This practice brings inner cultivation of Qi (energy) which improves circulation of the blood and strengthens the body, directly improving the physical health. It is also good for ones emotional well-being, through regular practice, we begin to feel our hearts more open which creates a peaceful and balanced atmosphere in which to live our lives from.

Healing Stage 1 - The Gathering of Healing Qi from the Universe

During this series we will learn a Sheng Zhen form comprised of 10 movements which are practiced seated in a chair. Through these unique movements, different from movements of everyday life, we begin to harmonize and synchronize our mind, body and spirit. We will also practice how to more deeply relax and open our bodies, allowing Qi to flow freely. All of these movements help us unite our Qi with the Qi of the universe, creating a feeling of oneness with the world around us. My hope is that participants will gain a deeper understand of Qi, learn the form and be comfortable practicing anytime and anywhere.

Open to all levels of experience.
